I am riding for the second year in Cycle for Shelter to benefit Emmaus House. This year, I’m doubling my effort and am going to ride the forty-mile route. I’m excited to be a part of the team High Vibration Wellness and joining my best friend Jeremy on the ride. I’ve been dodging raindrops and getting out to train as much as possible (although there is long, long way to go). Plus, this work thing really gets in the way of riding my bike :-). If anyone wants to ride with me, I’d love the company!
I’m asking you to help me raise critically needed funds to support Emmaus programs that help families and individuals who are homeless rebuild their lives.
One of the things I admire so much about Emmaus is that they work hard to say “yes” to people. I know they work hard to say yes to people looking for low rent housing and transitional housing. They bring in so many volunteers and say yes when girl scouts or school groups want to raise money or do a project for kids staying at the shelter. Half a dozen times I’ve rung their doorbell at odd hours with leftover food from an event a Sacred Hearts and the answer is always “Yes we’ll take that,” followed by a big smile. I am proud to ride to support this organization.
Saying yes is desperately needed.
On any given night, more than 300 adults and children call “Emmaus” home. Located in Haverhill, MA, last year Emmaus programs assisted more than 3,069 different people, including 1,561 children. Emmaus has been recognized in Massachusetts and nationwide as a best-practice model for responding to homelessness. Cycle for Shelter brings together hundreds of riders and volunteers who care deeply about creating solutions to the tragedy of homelessness. There is nothing wrong in thinking we could-if we wanted to-make homelessness a thing of the past. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. I am appreciative of any gift you could make. Please do feel free to forward my page along to anyone you think might want to donate too!
Thank you for saying yes with me! I appreciate you visiting my Personal Fundraising Page and am very thankful for your generosity.
