Everyone Deserves a Place to Call Home!
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
It's that time again! The Emmaus, Inc. Cycle for Shelter season has begun but this year, due to the Covid 19 virus, things will run a little differently. In order to keep staff and riders safe, this will be a virtual event. Riders will still log long miles to raise awareness of homelessness, while supporting the work Emmaus is doing. However, we will not gather on the last Sunday of July to ride in large groups but will log miles on our own on various dates throughout the summer. What has not changed is my calling on family and friends to help me to support the work of Emmaus, Inc. in addressing the issue of homelessness. Through educational programs, the maintenance of multiple shelters, the development of low-income housing, and the provision of groceries, Emmaus works daily to support individuals and families who are homeless. This year your help is more important than ever as one of our major fundraisers was cancelled and the demand for increased staff, cleaning supplies, and gear needed to protect guests and workers has grown tremendously.
On any given night, more than 300 individuals depend on Emmaus, Inc. for shelter. Last year, Emmaus programs assisted more than 2,200 individuals, many of whom were children. Emmaus has been recognized in Massachusetts and nationally as a best-practice model for responding to homelessness.
My 2020 goal is to ride 200 miles in the weeks ahead and to raise $500 or more to support the work of an organization that has, for 32 years, reached out to the homeless and transformed lives.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. No donation is too small! Many thanks for your support and I would ask that you forward this to anyone you believe might like to help, too.
