Welcome to Sue's Cycle for Shelter Page!
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
I am participating in the 33rd Annual Cycle for Shelter to benefit Emmaus. This is my 3rd Cycle for Shelter - building up from 20 to 40 to 62 miles this year!
I pledge to ride during this time to raise critically needed funds to support Emmaus programs that help families and individuals who are homeless rebuild their lives. On any given night, more than 300 adults and children call “Emmaus” home. Located in Haverhill, MA, this past year Emmaus programs assisted more than 1,625 different people each year, including 738 children! Emmaus has been recognized in Massachusetts and nationally as a best-practice model for responding to homelessness.
Right now, Emmaus needs our help more than ever. For the past year, Emmaus has been on the FRONT LINES of the COVID-19 health crisis. Emmaus' work became even more critical as it worked tirelessly to keep those in its care safe during the pandemic. And the cost of keeping everyone safe is ever-increasing. Canceled fundraising events, plus other additional costs related to staffing and cleaning amounted to a $450,000 budgetary shortfall last year and this year Emmaus is still incurring tremendous costs. Events such as this will help offset these incredible expenses.
I hope you will support my ride so that Emmaus can continue to care for and serve our community's most-vulnerable members.
This is a fun community event - if you've never participated, please consider registering - they have the best volunteers, great snacks at the water stops, and an amazing cookout at the end! You can do 10, 25, or 62 - there is something for every level.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- any amount is greatly appreciated!
